what Exactly is an integrative psychedelic therapist anyway?
In short, I got tired of introducing myself as a “Clinical mental health, psychedelic, and art therapist who primarily uses the modalities of creativity, somatic work, mindfulness, breath, movement, nature immersion, and Internal Family Systems with a person-centered, Jungian, Existential, Feminist approach.”
I’m a portal companion, a guide who helps you navigate expanded states of consciousness for healing and self-discovery. My approach blends multiple synergistic modalities to deepen your embodied awareness and safety, alongside depth psychology to explore your unconscious patterns and personal meaning.
Through creativity, conversation and compassionate presence, I support your journey toward remembering your inherent wholeness, integrating psychedelic, somatic, and creative experiences into lasting transformation.
origins
My background is broad ranging – professionally I’ve done everything from organic farming and goat herding in the tropics to working (a soul-stealing) sales job in the corporate world. I’m a mom, a partner, an artist, have overcome excessive alcohol use, body dysmorphia and disordered eating. I’ve cared for babies, and elders, and folks at the end of life. Somehow, everything I’ve done – yes, even the goat herding – has been about relationships. We are in relationship with absolutely everything – the clothes we wear, the food we eat, the natural and social environments around us, what we do for a living, and of course how we relate to each other.
My experience in primary care and surgical patient coordination underscored the primacy of how we relate to one another. Witnessing individuals stranded, struggling against overwhelming medical bureaucracy at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives hit a very deep nerve, my role here – in this walk of life – is that of a facilitator—someone to travel alongside you for a time, easing the burdens that feel too heavy, and offering support in setting them down when the time is right.
Psychedelic medicine is powerful medicine - in sensitive and skilled hands, it functions as accelerator to break through physical and emotional blockages in a radically efficient way, which, when not supported properly can cause figurative whiplash, disorientation, and potentially regression or worsening of the original issue.
This work is not inherently “safe”. It requires courage. You will be pushed to your limits, feel things you’ve had to avoid feeling - possibly for decades. You deserve an experienced, trauma-informed, seasoned, and compassionate facilitator at your side as you explore expanded states of consciousness to heal.
